fog
a friend of mine from KU visited me here in chicago for about three days for our spring break, and while he was here we had some of the most horrendous fog!
and…. here’s us at navy pier on sunday. it cleared up for a little bit and we even got to ride the ferris wheel despite the wind!
my wardrobe is about 80% black-colored clothing, the rest a variation of navy blue, red, lavender, white and other mixtures of colors/random-colored pieces. at least it’s easy to match, right?
my weekend
journey
tomorrow i am embarking on my long journey to kansas. i am leaving at 6 am and should be there by around 4 pm. oh well.
my 1997 buick century, Stardust. we’re partners in crime. i am excited to go on this trip but also very very worried.. my father loves to make me worry. i’m going on it virtually alone (i’m tailgating a friend) and um.. i hope i don’t fuck up. wish me luck!
i know, i’ve been absent for quite a while and i apologize but here is why:
i have just spent an amazing five whole days in arizona. i traveled all over, including tempe, scottsdale, sedona (and the villages that surround it), phoenix and… other places. i couldn’t feel more rejuvenated than i do now. i will definitely post pictures as soon as i am not tired and anxious to 1. paint my nails, 2. watch tough love and teen mom and 3. sleep.
have a very happy new year, everyone. i sure hope i will.
statement of the day!
i may be an english major but my grammar is still so very, very poor.
new hobby: poetrybombing
i found a new hobby, and it is called poetrybombing.
i find poems, i make poem “bookmarks”, and then i go to watson library and insert these poems into books, any books!
documented was my very first poetrybombing.

a fine romance
the title applies to three different things:
around this time of year i always have the urge to watch Swingtime, starring Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.
it’s the perfect movie for this time of year.
my title also applies to the romance i now have with my new Steve Madden boots:
they’re a size 10! i’m only a size 8.5, but they were incredibly small on me (the top flap of these boots also flips up and that also looks fantastic. they’re so amazing).
last, “a fine romance” applies to my new OPI favorite, Black Cherry Chutney from the OPI India Collection.
sorry, this picture does NO justice. i was also a little messy painting my nails last night. this is my new favorite vampie color though hands down. the color is a deep-eggplant with a deep red shimmer… somewhat like Midnight in Moscow mixed with Eiffel For This Color. fantastic.
and i also got my camera to work!
this has been a horribly rough week. nothing has gotten better, but i am still hoping for the best for next week. wait, i lie.. it’s the week before finals. that won’t be a good week either. the roommate is still not gone so i’ve been advised to camp out elsewhere until she’s gone which should be tomorrow.
reader(s), if you are out there, what do you guys/girls usually do to make yourselves feel better? please tell me!
cats &dogs
i must say, dita von teese is the most fabulous celebrity i could have ever laid eyes on. this picture (posted on her twitter) is SO cute. she named her dogs and cats after the tinsel town classics… and i think, when i become a cat lady, i will too. I like:
Fred (Astaire)
Gable (Clark)
Clara (Bow)
Lana (Turner)

i’ve been so caught up with things this past week. everything from roommate to academics, my life has turned upside down. my roommate is moving out the week after we get back from thanksgiving break, and these past few weeks i have been totally absorbed in the drama surrounding the situation. i am thankful to be sitting in my dorm room now with nothing to fear. as mentioned, i am going home (tomorrow!) and hopefully then i can get back to my writing.
the bedazzler

today i am going to have class underneath the bedazzler, an amazing all-branch structure created by patrick dougherty. i love my poetry class!
