currently

so one might wonder where i’ve been all this time.

well, i was employed at ULTA cosmetics about three weeks ago and ever since each day has been a roller coaster complete with sore feet and fragrant-filled pores. stocking, monitoring and helping customers is what i do (and stock the OPI but can’t touch it!). i’m super stoked to have this job, but am quite lonely at times as the routine is either 1. wake up, work, home, bed or 2. wake up, do something, go to work, bed. i hardly write anymore and the only thing in my head is the ULTA music on repeat. i hope to find the time to update soon.

quickie update

well, yesterday i drove from lawrence, ks to chicago. right now i am unpacking at my dad’s new place and moving after spending the night in evanston at my mom’s. it has been very chaotic, but here is a preview!

my birthday is on thursday and my dad surprised me with a brand-spanking new digital camera!
yay for pictures!

also, if you don’t own it yet, you must invest in OPI’s “Big Apple Red”. it’s a quintessential red that every girl must own and looks great on everyone. it’s a bright punchy red that will always be in style.

my weekend

what a great weekend! went into kansas city saturday night for my friend’s birthday.

saturday night. that is me and two of my five roomies for next year, who are both from chicago! next year will be so fun.

well, i made it.
however, it hasn’t been a very smooth experience being here: on friday i slipped on ice and bruised my right leg severely. there are lashes of red bruise down my leg and a purple cloud of lighter bruising covering the area. not fun at all. the boyfriend and i have been camping out at his place because he also hurt himself.

classes have been fine thus far. i am taking anthropology, poetry II, modern british literature and french. je n’aimes pas mon prof de poésie but that’s between you and i.

so i’ve had a pretty miserable last few months. instead of reflecting on the bad and lost i want to make a list of things that, currently, make me very happy.

-the gifts i received for hanukkah
-all the new nailpolish i got
-a B on my french final, which i was sure i was going to bomb
-a B in latin american history, one of the hardest classes i’ve ever taken
-i’m back home in chicago
-my cute cute awesome boyfriend
-the friends i’ve made and the friends that have stuck by me through this whole mess
-having a kitchen again
-the many parisian books my mom gave me
-it’s snowing (but i have to drive in it)
-christmas specials on tv
-the fact that i won’t get caught guiltily watching said christmas specials and noshing on chocolate gelt
